Two teenage hockey players brutally murder their parents in an unexpected altercation after a close friend and teammate commits suicide. The town's people believe the suicide was another tragic result of bullying, but the two boys have learned the true reason their friend took his own life, and decide to take matters into their own hands.
Detective Dean Daly is called in to investigate the brutal murders and believes there is much more to the murders than first appears.
Not far away, a young housewife, Sarah, is in a very bad place. Her husband Gerald finally crosses the line from verbal abuse to physical abuse and breaks her arm. She takes flight in the middle of the night, and Gerald vows he will track her down to the ends of the ends of time, and insists she can never leave him.
Detective Daly soon becomes involved in both events, not knowing that he will soon be caught in the middle as the two stories collide.
This is a story about courage, strength, and standing up for what you believe.
(Warning This novel contains material about sexual abuse of children and domestic physical abuse. Although there is no graphic content described within this story some may still find the content disturbing).

I've hardly ever given five stars, as I had believed a story had to be long and complicated, with many plots involved twisting together for the final episode. Treasure, tunnels, caves, and with crypts thrown in too, were my choice scenes of excitement. But, this novel by Mr. Ray Swirsky was as good as any of those that has kept my heart racing. It was a great read that kept my interest up through the whole book. No babbling on or boring parts bogged me down or slowed me up. Fast paced, and gave all the answers at the end. All the pieces fit together enjoyably. Best book I've read in awhile. Good job, Mr. Swirsky.

Wish Me from the Water edition by R E Swirsky Ray Swirsky Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

I have just finished reading the best book. It filled me with so many different emotions that it's hard to believe that an author could have such a great gift! You have to read this beautiful story yourself to know what I am saying...Please, just read it. You'll never forget it.
I liked this book. There were some editing/proofreading errors that could have been fixed, but that didn't detract from the story. It was interesting to see how the different storylines came together. I found myself staying awake past my bedtime to read this. I wasn't a fan of the abrupt ending though. I would read other items from this author.
I wondered how the author was going to tie the two "stories" together. Very well done. This is a good read. It is a story that has played out in recent news accounts. I could feel the emotions of Tommy, Jason, and Sarah. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a mystery.
I enjoyed reading this story the characters were people you could get close to. The storyline was hard to read as the boys had to endure so much and hide a secret for their friends. They also did not want anyone to know what happened. Things turned out for them as they wanted. This book was worth reading and I would like to read more of his books he writes so you can follow the story and really get in to it until you finish the book it keeps you reading until the end.
i was so disturbed at the time the when it was all coming to a head. we were told what was happening, then we were told the same from sara's point of view. it had the police being complete idiots. but even with this and the typo's, it had a good story line. at the very end when the detective told the boys what he thinks really happened, and asked the questioned, i wanted him to give the boys some kind of understanding for what had happened. they deserved it. they went thru hell.
Sadly, what the author wrote about is so so true. It is a shame in today's world that awareness still has to be stated. Regrettably there is so much denial out there about this and other despicable things. I really enjoyed reading this book.
I chose a five because it held my attention. This book reminded me of the Menendez brothers. What if?
One thing that bothered me is Sarah's story. As a counselor she is not infallible, however not reporting what happened to her and staying in close proximity to her terror just did not set well. One or the other would be more believable. Small bother, did not take away from the read.
